Coyote Point Light Rifle Match
1) The distance from the firing line to the targets is 50 yards.
2) Any non-artificially supported position may be used. Prone is recommended.
3) Only .22 rimfire (no magnums) ammunition may be used.
4) NRA Light Rifle rules apply: 8.5 pound firearm weight limit including sights; no slings; no heavy shooting gloves; no heavy
shooting jackets. A shooting mat is highly recommended; maximum thickness is one inch.
5) The NRA A27 “50 Yard Smallbore Prone Target” with one sighter bull and four scoring bulls will be used.
6) During the match unlimited sighters may be taken on the sighter bull.
7) During the match 10 shots will be taken on each of the four scoring bulls.
8) The 40 shot match (plus any in-match sighters) must be completed within 40 minutes. Except for unforeseen circumstances,
there will be no intermission or interruption. Any officially-called interruption time will be added to the 40 normal minutes. Late
competitor arrivals are not considered “unforeseen circumstances” for the purpose of match interruption.
9) Unofficial sighting-in on non-A27 targets starts at 0830.
10) The match briefing by the Match Director starts at 0900.
11) Official sighting-in on the A27 target starts at 0915.
12) The match starts at 0930.
13) There are two categories, scoped and iron sight. Scoped entries will be scored separately from iron sight entries, and a winner
will be declared for each category.
14) The total possible score is 400;points.
15) The match fee is $5 for Coyote Point R&P Club members and $25 for non-members. Please try to bring the exact amounts.
16) After the match, competitors will retrieve their targets, write their first and last names on them and give them to the Match
Director.
17) Standard NRA scoring rules apply. A shot which is mostly located in a lower scoring ring but which touches a higher scoring
ring will be assigned the higher number.
18) The Match Director will assign a score to each target, arrange all names/scores on a results form and submit it to the Club’s
centralized reporting authority for approval and publication.
