[UPDATE] As of the August Board meeting, the plan is for a dedicated 25yrd/50yrd sighting lane where an RSO will use our Club’s bore-sighting gear to help you get your scope adjusted. This will get you on paper, so that on your shooting lane you’ll be able to fully zero your optic.
Pistol will not be allowed at the range for public shooting nights because all public shooting is done at 100yrds (fixed target hangers at the 100yrd backstop). I wish it was 25+ years ago too when there were still gun stores in SF and the shotgun range at Lake Merced.
Pistol shooting and pistol competitions are allowed for Club Members only on scheduled weekends. This is 22LR pistols only due to noise issues with the park and museum (which is why public shooting isn’t allowed on the weekends). Targets are still fixed at the 100yrd backstop but Members set up a shooting line closer to the target.
No shotguns are ever allowed at the range due to noise issues. Sorry. Try Sunnyvale or Los Altos.
Sorry no new updates. Between the State and the County health officials, and COVID-19, my guess not until sometime after election day in November. Hang in there.

I’m a new owner of small Glock 10mm pistol.
I would like to be a public member so I may practice shooting my pistol. I fish and hike in wilderness areas the wildlife & criminal population has dramatically increased over past 20 years. One of my patients was attacked by mountain at highway rest area and lions have been sighted in my neighborhood.
Please notify me when you reopen in November??
Thank you

Yikes! I hope your patient didn’t lose any limbs from the cougar attack? Sorry, but our range is rifle only because Public Shooting is only done at 100yrds. Pistols are more wishful than accurate at that range.
Sadly, the Bay Area has lost quite a few pistol-friendly ranges even before COVID. Try Los Altos or San Leandro for pistol.
You’re welcome to bring any long-rifle or carbine.
The County and Sherif’s department are setting up an online reservations system which is being built. We are told their target is to have it up and running by July.

Will there be 25-yd sight-in lanes or target stands locations?

This looks very impressive. Thank you for all the hard work you all have been doing to get to this point
Will pistol/revolver shooting ever be allowed again like it was 25 + yrs ago?
Will slug shotguns be allowed on the range for zeroing?

Super excited about the renovation! Any update/estimate on the reopening date?

Other ranges are open with precautions. Why hasn’t CP?

Happy Holidays! What is the latest about opening? Will it be rimfire lanes on the left and centerfire on right like before?
Many thanks.
