Training

A Bump In The Middle of the Night

So you're sitting at home in your living room and the doorbell rings your dogs are going crazy. You go to the door and ask who is there? No one answers, you ask again, no one answers...

After a little while the doorbell stops and they seem to go away so you get back into your book, your tv program or whatever you were doing and then the doorbell rings again. You get up and go back to the door and you ask, "who is it,who's there?" Silence...

Now you start to back away and you start to remember what you learned in your personal protection class in your personal protection inside the home class, you start to remember your plan. You remember what they taught you about staying safe and getting things together.

It's Spring Training, Charlie Brown!

"You can't win, Charlie Brown!", I said to myself, reviewing my score sheets from the 2700 match at the Sunnyvale Rod & Gun club past weekend. My rimfire portion scores were 23 points below my personal best and about 15 points below my current average. My centerfire and .45 scores were even lower. No matter how I tried, I could not focus, I could not reduce my wobble and concentrate on the proper shot process. And then I realized, I need more training.

Women's Pistol Class Is Scheduled for May 24-25 2014

Name a sport which does not require sheer strength, big muscles, or requires over-exertion to win. A sport dominated by those with superior concentration, superb timing, excellent coordination and dexterity, coincidentally, skills which women excel in naturally. That sport is pistol shooting.

Coyote Point Rifle and Pistol Club is proud to announce our 2014 two day NRA Basic Pistol Class for Women.

We live in California and know full well that we have some of the most restrictive and non-productive gun laws in the nation. As gun owners, we continually face the challenges of being stereotyped in every negative way imaginable by ignorant anti-gunners (i.e. inbred rednecks). Whenever we try to defend ourselves, we are treated with contempt. We are not allowed to express our First Amendment rights whenever the liberals disagree with the Second Amendment. Gun owners fail to receive due process in the eyes of the liberal public because we are judged by a biased media and unfortunately, a nation of sheeple.

Marksman to Master

Quite recently, my youngest son was given a public speaking assignment for his high school English class. Ever the actor and not one to shy away from controversial topics, he chose to educate the other juniors and seniors on the Second Amendment. I was both surprised and proud that he was going to tackle the subject and explain all the positive things that go with gun ownership. Since his trip to Washington, D.C., I think experiencing the various historical sites first hand, including the Holocaust Memorial Museum, Ground Zero, and the Gettysburg battlefield, has given him an understanding that the American people not only have the right to bear arms but without exercising those rights, the American Revolution may have had a different ending altogether. We owe those patriots who have gone before us our freedom and for being our role models in the ongoing fight to defend ourselves.
